The Carolina Growler factory is located in Star, North Carolina with a sales office also in North Carolina. The Corporation is owned and operated by Bill Crisp and Terry Crews. Terry is a retired Marine Corps Colonel with many years of experience with all type of military vehicles and Bill is a retired GE executive. They have been building vehicles based on the M151A2 suspension and drive train for over ten years. 98% of the vehicles they have produced to date have been for export. Currently the company is geared up to build up to three vehicles a day.
The philosophy of the company is to build a reliable and easily maintainable vehicle primarily for off-road use at a very inexpensive price. Carolina Growler has not changed any of the original combat proven suspension and drive train components from the military vehicle used as a donor. The main Carolina Growler contribution is the design of several unique and modern body styles that accept the refurbished military components.
The body on the original military donor vehicle was very lightweight sheet metal, spot welded together at over lapping seams which lead to severe rust and corrosion problems.
In addition to new body designs Carolina Growler has invested in a large supply of spare parts to assure their customers of sufficient parts availability.
New developments underway are a program with a U.S. automotive parts manufacturer to manufacture new suspension and drive train components and the installation of a submersible diesel engine.
All Carolina Growler Models are sold fully assembled and tested. They are finished painted in a color of your choice and come with a 12 month/12,000 mile parts warranty.
